Published on the 21st of August.

The GAA community in Adamstown gathered on Saturday night to donate money to six deserving charities following a Kube fundraiser run by the club before Christmas.
Six teams took part representing different sections of the club. 10 per cent of the money raised by the teams and €1,000 in prizemoney for the winner, was donated to the various nominated charities.
Club Chairman Dessie Doyle welcomed everyone, especially those who came to accept the donations on behalf of the charities. He thanked the teams, supporters, sponsors and the communities of Adamstown, Raheen and Newbawn who were involved in the fundraiser, and who helped on the night. He paid tribute to last year’s chairman, Willie Colfer and his committee who organised the event.

Dessie also congratulated ‘The Kube’ winner Ian Stafford, who showed great skill to beat off all competition on the night.
The six charities who benefited were: Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, LauraLynn Foundation, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, St Gabriel’s Children’s Ward (Wexford General Hospital), Ronald McDonald House and Windmill Therapeutic Training Unit (Wexford). The total monies given to the charities was €3,208.

Also on the night, various medal presentations were made to the Junior B hurling team (district winners), U21 Hurling Team (district winners) and the Minor Football Team (Co. shield winners)
John Barron of Biogreen Energy Products Ltd. sponsored a set of jerseys for the minor team.
