If you’ve been wondering who the elusive second white-suited Stig has been for the past four years, all was revealed in Tipperary at the weekend.
The anonymous character, who has been racing cars on hit BBC motoring TV show since December 2010, appeared at a local fundraiser in Thurles on Saturday night.
The much-anticipated reveal astonished locals as none other than Independent TD Michael Lowry stepped out of the suit.
Deputy Lowry participated as one of the ‘skilled, intelligent, tactical and brave contestants’ in ‘The Kube’ fundraiser.

The current Stig on the motoring show is the second white-suited driver; the first was revealed as British racing driver Ben Collins following series 15.
The first Stig on the show wore a black suit and was exposed as British racing driver Perry McCarthy by a Sunday newspaper in January 2003.
Meanwhle, father of three Mr Lowry, is a former Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications in John Bruton’s Rainbow Coalition government.
He was first elected to the Dail for Fine Gael in 1987. He was appointed to Mr Bruton’s Cabinet following the collapse of Albert Reynolds’ Fianna Fail-Labour Coalition in late 1994. Mr Lowry resigned his position in November 1996.
He has now been an Independent TD for 17 years.
