Park Academy Fundraiser

Park Academy Fundraiser

The Park Academy Childcare were delighted to launch their fundraiser ‘Park Academy presents the Kube’ at the Leopardstown Inn on Thursday 10th September 2015. The fundraiser celebrates the crèches twentieth year in business and will raise vital funds for Irish children’s charity Childline. Little Vista have been announced as main sponsors for the event and Sales Director Maria Demery was in attendance on the night.

The launch party marked the countdown to the main event which will take place in the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney on Saturday 10th of October. It will see participants ‘take on the kube’ as per the popular TV show and compete against each other to win the €1000 prize money. All ticket proceeds will go directly to Childline along with the funds raised from the raffle on the night. A text line will be set up to enable members of the public to donate.

The party gave participants a chance to meet and greet their fellow opponents as well as to try their hand at some of ‘the Kubes’ most popular games. Then it was time to reveal the participants for each heat – an announcement that was met with much interest and excitement. The revelry and rivalry will continue in the coming weeks as parents and children get a chance to be in on the action. Sarah Quinn, Education Coordinator with Park Academy Childcare and chief organiser for the event illustrated how the crèches will be involved;

The fundraising team will be going out to all the crèches to set up some ‘Kube’ style game stations in the reception areas. Parents will then get the opportunity to test their skills and will also be able to make donations to Childline via our collection buckets. Plus there will be prizes up for grabs for those with the steadiest hands and the quickest reactions! There’s already a great atmosphere building around the event so we’re really looking forward to the buzz this will create in our centres in the coming weeks. ‘

A number of local businesses have also come on board in support of the event providing sponsorship and raffle prizes for the event. Speaking at the launch party, Little Vista’s spokesperson explained their reasons for becoming involved in the campaign;

Little Vista have recently devised a software solution for the childcare sector with a free app for parents that allows them to receive daily updates on their child’s day. We have been working closely with the Park Academy and so we jumped at the opportunity to support them with this fantastic event which will make a much needed contribution to a very worthy charity’.

Last year Childline received 652,382 calls but could not answer 189,877 of these due to a lack of funding. It is hoped that the proceeds raised through this fundraiser will help towards supporting more of the brave children who call.
